Hawker Hunter was Singapore first acquired jet-powered fighter from the British in 1968, which later formed Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) pioneer fighter squadron (140 SQN) in 1970. The Hunter defence and protect Singapore sky for 22 years before it was retired in 1992, which they were phased out with introduction of F-16A Fighting Falcon.
