| Video Discription | Acne Vulgaris: What is it, Risk Factors, pathogenesis, Types (Acne Fulminans, Conglobata & Excoriee), Diagnosis, Treatment, and Complications. Acne is a very common, often chronic, skin condition that leads to non-inflammatory and inflammatory skin lesions. There are 4 pathogenic causes of acne, including infection with the bacteria propionibacterium acnes (also known as cutibacterium acnes). There are also several medications that can cause and/or worsen Acne as well, including phenytoin among others. We discuss influencing factors that can worsen acne as well, including elevated androgen levels. We also discuss the different presentations of acne including acne fulminans, acne conglobata, and acne excoriee. Finally, we discuss the severity, diagnosis and treatment of acne.
