When I approached my A&P/IA about restoring this airplane under his supervision, he strongly advised me that, “This project is not economically feasible”. No truer words were spoken but Joe stood by me. Why do the project in the first place? I simply wanted an airplane project and a Cessna is a great airplane. And I love that smooth running great sounding Continental O300D. Finally, my father kept very close tabs on the project. He would ponder different challenges that I was struggling with and would call back a couple days later. He’d start the conversation with, “Dave...
