WILD LAOS - Laos' Most Isolated Hill Tribe. The ELUSIVE AKHA The Akha are very different than most other ethnicities found in Laos. They mostly live away from larger villages and main roads preferring the isolation of the mountain jungles. Dressed in black traditional garb with heavy elaborate head gear adorned with silver they shy away from cameras, and if caught demand payment for their images. The village we found this day seemed empty until an elderly Akha lady greeted us wanting to trade. Once they knew our intentions and we had things to offer, little by little the Akha showed themselves. We even had the privilege of being invited into their home and offered tea.
