| Video Discription | Al-Janoub Stadium, formerly Al-Wakrah Stadium, is a football stadium with a retractable roof in Al-Wakrah, Qatar. It was opened on May 16, 2019. Following the refurbishment of Khalifa International Stadium, this is the second of the eight stadiums in Qatar that will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It was created by British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid and the business AECOM. Curvilinear postmodernist and neo-futurist architecture may be seen throughout the stadium. The roof's design was influenced by the sails of traditional Dhow boats that local pearl divers used to navigate the Persian Gulf currents. It will serve as the official location for Al-Wakrah SC, the football team that competes in the Qatar Stars League. The stadium has a 40,000-person capacity, which is predicted to drop to 20,000 following the World Cup. The stadium lies 22 kilometers south of Doha.
