Special Thanks to Ds_ Walid :D Zemmour is a powerful confederation of Berber Sanhadja and Zenete tribes living in the Middle Atlas region, Morocco. They speak their own Berber dialect called Tamazight. Zemmour is known for its acts of hostility, of warlike mood, it won this vast territory in the 18th century by repelling step by step, for generations, the powerful tribe of Beni Ahsen. Coming from southern Morocco, it was around the 18th century that the zemmours confederation began to leave the region of Azrou and Ain Leuh where it was previously located to get closer to the Khemisset plateau. Certain tribes from Zemmour such as Ait Abbou, Ait Ouribel, Ait Yadine, Messaghra settled around 1830-1850 in the part they currently occupy. Zemmour was part of the bled seba, (country of dissidence), no foreigner could cross their territory without ensuring, against payment, customary protection or Mezrag.
