About Austin
Phoenix native Austin Burke’s musical career began at age three, when he sang the national anthem for both the Diamondbacks and the Suns. At 19, Burke left behind his dreams of playing baseball to pursue a career in country music in Nashville. He spent four years tirelessly waiting tables, writing songs and saving enough money to record his debut single, “Sleepin’ Around.” The song led to a covetable contract with WME and the opportunity to open for numerous high-profile artists. “Whole Lot in Love," Austin’s latest single, has catapulted him to Spotify stardom. The track boasts more than 40 million streams, and his music has also been prominently featured on Sirius XM’s The Highway.
"One Summer" Lyrics
High school caps were flyin’.
We were singin’ and high fivin’.
Yea, the next thing we were drivin’
Down the 5 and so alive.
As that blue sky kissed the ocean
And turned into a red sunset,
We knew we had to grow up,
Didn’t have to grow up yet.
It was Connor, me and Kevin
Hellbent on havin’ fun.
We were bad at holdin’ liquor,
But we were good at bein’ young.
Oh, and then there was that one,
You know, the girl you can’t forget.
Who made me fall in love
Before I knew what love meant.
Everybody has that…
One summer, that one kiss,
That one moment
That goes something like this.
She said, “My parents are outta town,
Do you wanna stick around?”
Yea, you stuck around.
Everybody has that
One touch that was too good.
It was hotter than July,
Wouldn’t stop even if you could.
Ain’t it funny lookin’ back
How you thought
You’d have a million others?
But, there’ll never be another
Like that one summer.
That summer came and went.
We never thought that it would end.
Yea, we scattered like September
Leaves blowin’ in the wind.
Kevin went to ‘Bama,
Connor moved to Tennessee.
As for her, I haven’t heard a word,
But I see her in my dreams.
Everybody has that…
One summer, that one kiss,
That one moment
That goes something like this.
She said, “My parents are outta town,
Do you wanna stick around?”
Yea, you stuck around.
Everybody has that
One touch that was too good.
It was hotter than July,
Wouldn’t stop even if you could.
Ain’t it funny lookin’ back
How you thought
You’d have a million others?
But, there’ll never be another
Like that one summer.
Yeah, that one summer, that one kiss,
That one moment
That went somethin’ like this.
She said, “My parents are outta town,
Do you wanna stick around?”
Yea, I stuck around.
That one touch that was too good.
It was hotter than July,
Wouldn’t stop even if I could.
Ain’t it funny lookin’ back
How I thought
I’d have a million others.
But, there’ll never be another
Like that one summer.
Yeah, that one summer.
Everybody has that one summer.
