There was an important chunk of the film missing from my source, when Daisy Irani gets taken home by Ashok Kumar's character. It begins around the 15 minute mark. I got that part from a different source, but there are no subtitles for it. If you use the subtitles, you'll easily be able to figure out what's going on so there's no real problem there and it lasts for about a minute. Also, for that minute the picture quality is degraded somewhat.
Also, right after the opening credits the contrast was so blown out I was forced to turn it down so all the whites didn't hurt the eyes. It's easy to notice that something's wrong, but it doesn't last long.
This was Daisy Irani's first real film. She had appeared in a small part as a 2 year-old three years previous in the Suraiya film, Diwana. That film is available in this channel:

One of my favorites - Shammi - has a small but entertaining part in the film.
The Encyclopedia of Indian Cinema says this about Bandish:
S. Bose’s directorial debut in Hindi is a
sentimental comedy about an orphan called
Tomato (Irani). Looking for a more congenial
guardian in a park, Tomato selects Kamal (A.
Kumar) and turns him into her father. Kamal is
a blackmail victim and is burdened by many
other problems but he and his girlfriend Usha
(Kumari) find themselves having to look after
the child. In the end, the child helps resolve
all the problems. The precocious performance
by Daisy Irani, Hindi cinema’s best-known
child actress, was the film’s main highlight.
