| Video Discription | A wonderful plant that comes into flower in late winter early spring. Erysimum like poor to moderately fertile soil that is well drained. They do not like an acid soil and they are better not exposed to strong winds or a very damp soil in winter. They should be dead headed by cutting down a few leaves into the stem and after flowering given a trim over to make a neater plant. This particular variety, "Bowles' Mauve" is hardly ever out of flower and as you keep dead heading it will keep flowering. It is a good idea to get in that trim over at some stage to avoid the plant getting leggy and badly shaped. It can grow to between 2 - 3ft (60 - 90cm) so get that trim in to keep it neat. Erysimum are not long lived plants and you can propagate them by seed in summer or summer cuttings. [yC-XokgzH6g] |
