This new Buick competes in the meat of the compact premium space but on power and price it is more in line with the small premium SUV class. This new 2021 Buick Envision It’s wider, longer and lower than the outgoing model. It offers a sportier and athletic exterior and it certainly packs a punch. It has a turbocharged 2L 4-cylinder engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission, 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The base model comes with standard FWD and most trims are equipped with AWD. The Envision comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, 18” wheels, a 17” spare tire, hands-free power tailgate, forward collision alert, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.The Envision comes standard with a10.2” touchscreen, 4.2” diagonal colour driver information centre, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, heated front seats, heated leather wrapped steering wheel, hands-free power tailgate, forward collision alert, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert along with remote start. This is pretty impressive for the base model. The Essence middle trim comes standard with an 8” diagonal driver information centre and cluster display, heated second row seats, driver seat memory, perforated leather appointed seating. If you want Navigation, HD radio, head-up display, Bose 9-speaker sound system, front & rear parking assist and 20” wheels, you have to add the technology I package for $2,995 CAD. The panoramic power moonroof is also extra, $1,795; our test model does not have a moonroof. The Avenir top trim comes with the Bose 9-speaker sound system, driver massage seats, head-up display, perforated leather-appointed seating and a panoramic sunroof. Add the Technology II package for $2,495 and you get everything in Technology I along with adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency breaking, automatic parking assist and a rear camera mirror.
