The system stabilizes a compact camera in 3 axes, meaning that it should always point in the same geographic direction. This is done with the help of some sensors: 3 gyroscopes, one 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis magnetometer. Two dsPIC digital signal controllers do the math and three standard RC-servo motors serve as actuators.
