| Video Discription | Chelela Pass is the highest motorable point in Bhutan, sitting 3988 metres (about 13,000 ft) above sea level, between the Haa and Paro valleys.(1) The pass is located 35 km from Paro and 26 km from Haa on the Bondey-Haa Highway.(2) Built in the 1990s, the asphalt road is narrow and steep, with hundreds of turns and sheer drops. It can be dangerous in winter due to snow and ice and the risk of avalanche.(3) An area just below the pass was used as the location for Agay's Hut in Khyentse Norbu's film Travellers & Magicians.
