| Video Discription | Chu Ky III by Tôn Thât Tiêt (1933) was originaly composed for harp. The piece has fascinated me for a long time because of it's magical atmosphere, it's musical structure and the special textures Tôn Thât Tiêt draws from the instrument. By transposing the music, employing a rather unusual scordatura (G1,G2,D3,G3,C4,D4) as well as occasional retuning during the piece to obtain the desired quarter tones, I found the piece works well on guitar too. This recording was made in my basement in small bits during the arrangement process and was only meant as a reference for the composer to give feedback on my attempts at arranging Chu Ky III for guitar. To my great delight Tôn Thât Tiêt was happy with my work and gave permission to perform the guitar version of Chu Ky III in future concerts. It is my intention to upload a good quality live performance of the premiere of this work in the future. We are only waiting for good concerts to come by again. This is the first piece for solo guitar by Tôn Thât Tiêt .
