Usually, someone labels their relationship status as complicated, it has to do with them wanting more and the other person holding back. For example, when the other person is not willing to commit fully to the relationship, for whatever reason. Dealing with a challenging relationship is quite easy if you are honest with yourself. It is important to ask yourself; "why am I in a complicated relationship in the first place." Usually, people who are in this position ignore the warning signs that their relationship is not headed in the direction they want. As a result, they end up in situations that are not 100% happy with and learn to settle for less. These type of relationships usually don't end happily, especially if one person wants more than the other. Sometimes in longer-term relationships, issues arise when one person develops feelings for someone else outside the relationship, or someone is losing interest. Usually, friends like to give complicated relationship advice if you ask for it, but not many people seek professional help when they are in this position. That is why I decided to do this video. Hundreds of thousands of people have a complicated relationship status and need help. If you find yourself struggling at the beginning of your relationship, talk to your significant other. I know this seems like a simple task to do, which it is. And, it is also one of the hardest things to do. Most likely if you are avoiding discussing this with your other half, you are wanting to avoid confrontation. But we cannot live in denial forever. It is costing you the happiness you want and deserve. In many complicated relationships, there is usually one person who is avoiding having "the talk", which results in a continual pattern of not getting your needs met. No matter how scary it is or no matter who much it hurts, it is important to be strong and address the issue at hand. You must keep the purpose of the conversation in mind, and know what your ultimate goal is. Ask yourself, what do I want out of this talk? Sometimes people decide that instead of having the talk, they are ready to part ways. Sometimes it is easier to just leave instead of confronting the issue. Being authentic, open, and honest is a healthy relationship skill to have. That being said, being brave and having the talk is usually the right way to go.
