Scam messages that appear to be from these financial institutions are appearing on targets’ phones. The messages warn of a mysterious transfer attempt or provide a temporary pin number for accessing an online account. It’s terrifying to think that someone is attempting to hack your account. If you receive one of these messages: -Be cautious and never click on any link in the message; -Refrain from responding, even if prompted to reply ‘NO’, as sending a response alerts the scammer that the user is willing to engage; -Be wary of Caller ID as scammers can spoof the number to make it appear legitimate; and -Never provide personal or financial information in response to a solicitation.
