Today, we'll walk you through the 10 CONS of moving to Corpus Christi Texas! Let’s talk about a few of the downsides of living in Corpus Christi Texas today. There is a TON of pros – don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t live here if the pros didn’t outweigh the cons – but it’s worth noting that there are a few things that people don’t like about living here. ============== WEATHER In Texas, when it’s cold, it’s cold, and when it’s hot, it’s REALLY hot. BUGS The bugs here can be a problem, especially when you’re coming from areas like California where the bugs just aren’t an issue. But the solution that most Texans go to to deal with that is yard spraying, and that takes care of most of the issue. Just don’t allow standing water in your yard, and you should be good. ALLERGIES This is one that you really must keep in mind, especially if you’re coming from somewhere with less foliage in general. The pollen here during the Spring especially is NUTS. PROPERTY TAXES We do have pretty high property taxes here to make up for no income tax, so that’s definitely something that catches some people off guard when they move here. CORPUS CHRISTI IS A SMALL BIG TOWN Corpus Christi is Restricted by the Gulf of Mexico and the Corpus Christi Bay so we can only grow West and South. But we are growing that way fast. TRAFFIC And of course, because Corpus Christi is a smaller town, we only have two meager highway and no loop so when coming from one to the other during the rush hour it gets real congested so be prepared for that HURRICANES This is a question we get a lot, but yes – we do have the occasional scare of hurricanes but Corpus Christi has not had a direct impact in quite a while. FRIENDLINESS Texans are VERY friendly, so getting stopped to chat at the grocery store or getting held up in line somewhere because people are chatting is a common occurrence - could be a pro or con, depending on who you are! FLAT Last of all, Corpus Christi is a bit flat, which is my biggest complaint about Corpus Christi. Overall, the cons really aren’t that bad, but you should keep them in mind when you’re moving here.
