| Video Discription | Tuberculosis (TB) is preventable, diagnosable, and curable. Yet the challenges fo the disease are overwhelming national health systems. This short film documents the work and achievements of the TRACK TB Program in Uganda. The five-year TRACK tuberculosis (TRACK-TB) activity aimed to increase detection of TB cases and improve treatment success rates to meet national targets for reducing TB, multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), and TB/HIV co-infection. The project, which began in 2013, worked with the Government of Uganda to enhance the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Programme (NTLP)’s ability to plan, monitor, and implement TB control activities. The TRACK TB team worked to improve MDR-TB management, as well as urban- and community-based TB treatment strategies based on the World Health Organization’s directly observed treatment, short course (DOTS) model.
