| Video Discription | About Devi Shailputri: Goddess Durga, the divine personification of Goddess Shakti (Parvati) manifested herself in nine forms, who are worshipped and celebrated during the nine days of Navratri. Devi Shailputri is the first among the nine forms of Goddess Durga and is propitiated on the first day of Navratri. Devi Shailputri is the Goddess of purity and a form of mother nature called Prakriti – the one preserves all living forms on earth – humans, plants, animals, trees and every little living thing in the universe. Also known as Hemavati and Parvati, Goddess Shailputri carries Trishul in her right hand a lotus in her left hand. Goddess Sati, after self-immolation took birth as the daughter of Himalaya, hence the name Shailputri. In Sanskrit, Shailputri is an amalgamation of two words- 'Shail' which means mountains and 'Putri' which means daughter. Devotees worship the first avatar of Goddess Durga, Shailputri on the first day of Navratri. It is believed that moon is governed by the Goddess. Moon is considered to be the owner of fortunes, hence, worshipping the Goddess brings luck. Goddess of Root Chakra Mother Shailputri symbolizes the Mooladhara Chakra or root chakra – the ultimate gateway to spiritual awakening. Hence, one must begin the Pooja on the first day of Navratri to Devi Shailputri by energizing the Mooladhara Chakra and offer rituals to the Mother with pure heart and devotion to receive her eternal blessings. Unique Offering to Devi Shailputri Pure ghee (clarified butter) is offered to Devi Shailputri on the first day of Navaratri. It is believed that offering ghee to the divine mother on this day can bless you with a disease-free life. Devi Shailputri Katha : मां दुर्गा को सर्वप्रथम शैलपुत्री के रूप में पूजा जाता है। हिमालय के वहां पुत्री के रूप में जन्म लेने के कारण उनका नामकरण हुआ शैलपुत्री। इनका वाहन वृषभ है, इसलिए यह देवी वृषारूढ़ा के नाम से भी जानी जाती हैं। इस देवी ने दाएं हाथ में त्रिशूल धारण कर रखा है और बाएं हाथ में कमल सुशोभित है। यही देवी प्रथम दुर्गा हैं। ये ही सती के नाम से भी जानी जाती हैं। उनकी एक मार्मिक कहानी है। एक बार जब प्रजापति ने यज्ञ किया तो इसमें सारे देवताओं को निमंत्रित किया, भगवान शंकर को नहीं। सती यज्ञ में जाने के लिए विकल हो उठीं। शंकरजी ने कहा कि सारे देवताओं को निमंत्रित किया गया है, उन्हें नहीं। ऐसे में वहां जाना उचित नहीं है। सती का प्रबल आग्रह देखकर शंकरजी ने उन्हें यज्ञ में जाने की अनुमति दे दी। सती जब घर पहुंचीं तो सिर्फ मां ने ही उन्हें स्नेह दिया। बहनों की बातों में व्यंग्य और उपहास के भाव थे। भगवान शंकर के प्रति भी तिरस्कार का भाव है। दक्ष ने भी उनके प्रति अपमानजनक वचन कहे। इससे सती को क्लेश पहुंचा। वे अपने पति का यह अपमान न सह सकीं और योगाग्नि द्वारा अपने को जलाकर भस्म कर लिया। इस दारुण दुःख से व्यथित होकर शंकर भगवान ने उस यज्ञ का विध्वंस करा दिया। यही सती अगले जन्म में शैलराज हिमालय की पुत्री के रूप में जन्मीं और शैलपुत्री कहलाईं। पार्वती और हेमवती भी इसी देवी के अन्य नाम हैं। शैलपुत्री का विवाह भी भगवान शंकर से हुआ। शैलपुत्री शिवजी की अर्द्धांगिनी बनीं। इनका महत्व और शक्ति अनंत है। Mantra - ॐ देवी शैलपुत्र्यै नमः॥ [tpw84PBedDw] |
