| Video Discription | In this video by http://www.AndrewHeming.com, I give a quick tip on how to get the dumbbells into position when doing DB Bench Presses. note: practice this with lighter weights until you master the skill - then progress up to doing it with your training weights. A note on safety: I know there are several comments for this video about the danger of this technique. I fully acknowledge that there is a risk with using this technique. Remember there is always a risk to training and your risk goes up as you get stronger and push your body farther. If you don't feel comfortable with this technique or don't want to assume this risk, then don't use it. In a perfect world, we would have 2 spotters (1 on each side) to hand us the dumbbells and take them with us when finished (even with this there is a risk if the spotter makes a mistake). Or, we would have a fancy apparatus that lets us unrack dumbbells like you would a barbell (they are out there if you have the money). Without these more ideal situations, this technique, once practiced and mastered first with lighter weights lets you get heavy dumbbells into position on your own. This is especially helpful if you have long arms like me.
