Scalping the dead tissue off the top is the first step to getting the brown out of the lawn and letting the new tissue thrive. Step 2- Dethatch the lawn. I prefer to use the sun joe dethatcher and scarifier. its a fantastic tool to getting the excess debris off the top of the soil Step 3- use a scarifier to remove excess thatch. excess thatch will prohibit new blade growth. By removing the thatch your lawn will grow new blades of grass and thicken up. Step 4 - use a nitrogen based fertilizer to give the lawn what it needs early spring time. Watering is going to be area specific. The general rule of thumb is to never let the soil dry out. Thanks for tuning in!
