Click here to find out more details about the Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 3-Door bus: https://landtransportguru.net/alexander-dennis-enviro500-3-door/ In April 2019, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) procured 50 units of the Alexander Dennis Enviro500 double-deck bus, configured with three doors and two staircases for smoother boarding and alighting. These are the first Enviro500 3-door buses to be specifically designed for the right-hand-drive market. These buses were procured under Contract PT342 (Procurement of 3-Door Euro 6 Double Deck Diesel Buses) for ~S$34 million. The bus was initially expected to enter revenue service in 2020 (delayed to 2021). This is the third batch of ADL Enviro500 buses supplied for Singapore’s public bus industry. It will be the 2nd time that the ‘glass staircase’ was introduced to Singapore buses since Volvo B8L, with glass panels running the length of the stairs. Sadly, the bus hasn't debuted into service yet by any operators in Singapore as there are several issues to the bus. While some of them were now shipping to Singapore as according on 1 April 2021. When all ADL E500 3-Door buses are debut, then there will be a total of 100 3-door buses in Singapore. The Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 3-Door bus will be the last pure-diesel buses to be procured for the Singapore public bus industry. Buses are expected to be delivered and enter service in Singapore in 2nd Quarter of 2021. Registration numbers for the 50 ADL buses are to be confirmed.
