The battery gets its 60-70 % charge in the first phase itself. 2) Constant Voltage Phase Once the Li-ion battery voltage reaches the desired charge voltage, the voltage across the battery is maintained constant and the battery current is gradually reduced until it reaches the charge termination current. (*Charge termination current and maximum charging voltage is decided by manufacturers ) Fast charging: For fast charging the Li-ion/ Li-polymer batteries, they are charged with the higher battery current in the first constant current phase of charging. Broadly, in fast charging technology, the smartphone is fast charged either by charging the battery at the higher voltage (9V/2A) or at higher current (5V/ 6A). In this video, Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology, fast charging with USB-PD, and Oppo's Super VOOC technology are explained.
