| Video Discription | Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment, 29th Infantry Division return to Virginia and reunite with loved ones and fellow Soldiers Oct. 22, 2022, in Sandston, Virginia, after serving on federal active duty in Kosovo since February 2022. Approximately 140 Soldiers mobilized as Task Force Pegasus, flying more than 1,700 accident-free flight hours, completing more than 275 aerial missions consisting of aerial reconnaissance, logistical resupply, troop transport and wildfire suppression. Five missions were multinational multi-ship flights. They also conducted 14 medical evacuation missions, two of which required the use of a rescue hoist. They officially ended their mission as the Kosovo Force’s Regional Command-East aviation task force with a transfer of authority ceremony with the Alabama National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 131st Aviation Regiment, 29th Infantry Division.
