In this guide you will learn how to defeat both types of golems and where to farm the rare Furnace Visage to make the powerful hefty Furnace Pot throwing item. There are 2 types of Furnace Golems that you will run into. The first type will have no armor on it's legs. You can easily defeat this type of furnace golem without wasting any resources by simply attacking both of it's legs until you managed to break both legs poise and you'll notice this happen once the furnace golem staggers. Once you've successfully managed to break both of the legs poise the furnace golem should fall to the ground. You can get a critical attack off on it's visage which is it's weak point. You'll need to repeat the process of breaking the golems poise again before you can get another critical attack off on it's visage. Once you do this a couple of times or so the golem should be defeated. The next type of Golem is the armored legged Golem. For this type of Golem we are going to be using Hefty Furnace Pots to defeat them since it only takes 3 pots to defeat it. You will need to find ember of Messmer which are scattered around Scadu Altus, redflesh mushrooms, which are commonly found throughout the lands of shadow, and the hardest ingredient being the Furnace Visage, which can be found in some spots of the world map and is a rare drop from some enemies, and it is a guaranteed drop from defeating a Furnace Golem. If you want to farm Furnace Visages because you need more furnace pots than here is where i was able to get them pretty consistently. Outside of shadow keep castle make a left turn and head straight to the dead golem, there are messmer soldiers found here that drop the visage as a rare drop. In this video run i ended up getting 2 visage drops from them and this is also the same spot that has 3 furnace visages laying on the ground so you can also get 3 free visages by picking them up. For equipment I had the great-jar helmet which increases pot damage by 15% and the companion jar talisman which increases pot damage by 20%. I also had the Flamedrake talisman +2 to vastly boost my fire damage negation incase I took a hit or 2 from his powerful fire attacks. The flamedrake talisman +2 is found in dragonbarrow Cave located in Caelid region. the great jar helm is given to you by Alexander for following his quest line and the companion jar is by JAR BAIRN for following his questline. You can search these 2 questlines up on the elden ring Wikipedia page if you need a walkthrough for them. When you are fighting the non-armored golem up close becareful for it's stomp attack that will explode fire around him. You can dodge this attack by jumping in the air just before he lands the attack. He will also do another very powerful fire attack where he explodes. You can survive this attack if you get hit by it by having lots of fire damage negation otherwise you'll want to be ready to run or ride your horse far away from the blast.
