| Video Discription | How do you know if you are a Germaphobe? Germaphobia (also sometimes spelled germophobia) is the fear of germs. In this case, “germs” refers broadly to any microorganism that causes disease, for instance, bacteria, viruses, or parasites. This irrational fear drives the germophobes to extreme personal hygiene, compulsive cleaning and washing of hands, and of course, avoiding situations they think could expose them to germs. Thankfully, just like other OCD disorders, mysophobia can be diagnosed and treated. In most cases, they are treated using a combination of medication, psychotherapy, exposure treatment.
