You behave. ;-) Born during the 1920s in the african Gold Coast, highlife music grew influenced by: - Army brass bands playing traditional melodies and rythms, - "Guitarbands" inspired by the seprewa, a traditional instrument of the Akan people, - City big bands adapting waltz, fox-trot, quickstep, and performing in front of the High-Ups, the upper classes. Pre-independence lyrics very often carried a message of hope in self-rule. The first tour of the famous ghanaian bandleader E.T.
