Some will go for the most basic of starts with seeds sown. The range of entry points, levels and methods is diverse. An option that is occasionally touted is a kit. These can be anything from a bag of seeds to a semi styled tree with wired pot and soil. Again a wide range. The most simple kits are often the cheapest. These ar e nearly always just a bag of seeds and maybe a growing media of some sort. Calling these a bonsai starter kit is just marketing. What you get a bonsai 20 years later. What you buy now is an over priced and limited range of seeds. This contention aside the kit doe shave some limited merits. Base don our experience these merits are only good if you lack the means of getting support such as clubs, societies, YouTube and books. These seed starter kits do have a big caveat.
