Like other songs in the film, it was a tune recycled from the catalogue of earlier compositions by Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown. “Good Morning” had first appeared on the big screen in MGM’s 1939 Judy Garland-Mickey Rooney film version of the Broadway musical "Babes In Arms" and was recorded by several popular bands of the day.
