A recent paper by the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) and the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) proposes that gene therapy treatment in Europe be carried out using a ‘hub-and-spoke’ model of hemophilia comprehensive care centers (national hubs) and hemophilia treatment centers (spokes). It is hoped that communication and cooperation between these centers will lead to the same success and safety for gene therapy as has been seen in clinical trials.
