| Video Discription | In this video, the best dermatologist in Delhi, India Dr. Nivedita Dadu will discuss Hypertrophic scars and bumps on the nose. Hypertrophic (Acne) Scars are the breakouts of acne, and they leave the skin into a bothersome condition. There are different types of acne scars like atrophic scars, hypertrophic, and keloidal scars. Acne scars are formed when the skin tissues are damaged. A hypertrophic scar is a wide, thick and raised scar which develops on the skin. The main characteristic of a hypertrophic scar is that it is thick and raised above the skin. They are formed due to excess production of collagen. This results from a prolonged inflammatory phase of wound healing. The main treatments available for hypertrophic scar are silicone gels, steroid injections, and laser treatment. One of our patients was suffering from a hypertrophic scar on the nose, due to which the nose of the patient was swollen. He underwent laser treatment and found significant results.
