So I used my ‘96 Fatboy as a coil tester, confirmed the coil was good even though it tested outside of my repair manual specifications. Confirming the likelihood that the module was the issue. So replaced the module (and sensor) with an Ultima (Dynatech) 2000i which is an all in one unit, relatively straight forward installation. Once running got her warmed up and did what many probably think should have been a first step (and they may not be wrong) and flushed / changed the engine oil.
