If you've ever run into the issue before where you weren't able to import certain kinds of MP3s, it probably has to do with the codec, which is the style of compression used on the file. To fix it, you just have to rename the file extension to .wav instead of .mp3 and then it'll work just fine. This won't change the file format, it merely changes how the operating system handles the audio. I'm not sure what it is about GarageBand and the new Apple services that necessitate this change. But either way, I at least know how to fix it. For iOS, it's a bit different. While using GarageBand iOS, you need to download the application, Media Converter, or File Converter from the App Store, and then change the file from an mp3 to a .wav.
