This is because delivery of door to door construction technical assistance is resource extensive. How can customized technical construction inputs be made accessible to millions of people living in informal settlements? Technology and adoption of connected mobile platforms can be combined to help bridge the gap between low-income communities and professionals. Innovative software platforms that code engineering data and architectural design can influence quality of housing, empower users with information to build more affordable, and safer homes. Marco Ferrario is the co-founder of mHS CITY LAB, a social venture that focuses on inclusive urban development and on how to improve the resilience of informal settlements by leveraging technology.
