| Video Discription | A popular opposition politician in Zimbabwe, Job Sikhala was convicted of obstruction of justice in a high-profile trial on Wednesday, a move that now bars him from contesting upcoming elections. Mr Sikhala was found guilty almost a year after he was first arrested, and after spending more than 300 days behind bars pending the verdict. Sikhala was fined US$600. The Harare magistrate Mare-wanaz-vo Gofa said the legislator will face six months in jail if he fails to pay the fine by May 5. Another six months was wholly suspended on condition of good behaviour. Sikhala however remains in pretrial detention over other criminal cases which include inciting public violence and publishing falsehoods over the same video.
