| Video Discription | Grateful Dead with members of Jefferson Airplane -Live at Family Dog at the Great Highway, San Francisco, CA on September 7, 1969. Joey Covington, drummer of Jefferson Airplane, handles vocals for an inspired medley that includes "Louie Louie," "Twist & Shout" and "Blue Moon." This is a rare archival version of the song that can be found on Archive.org. As noted on LongLiveDead.com: "I know of no eyewitness accounts, reviews or even second hand accounts of this show, so at this point all of my questions remain unanswered. What follows is some speculation about these shows--I don't know any more than anyone else, which is close to nothing, but most Bay Area Dead shows from the 60s have a wide variety of historical ephemera, like posters, reviews or eyewitness accounts, and this show has none." This video clip was assembled with found archival images of the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Family Dog at Great Highway, Playland amusement park and the Cliff House located near the original location where this performance took place.
