| Video Discription | Today, July 11th, 2014, there will be a record flood on the Mendenhall River in Juneau, Alaska due to a Jökulhlaup or Glacial Outburst Flood. Water has been collecting in Suicide Basin all spring long, which is a side canyon to the main Mendenhall Glacier. It finally filled enough to lift the side of the glacier and allow the water to rush out all at once. The Mendenhall Lake and River are expected to crest today sometime in the afternoon.
