And, 2-3” is much too big (2-3” size can literally measure up to 6” big)). Ginshanada gravel size used was 3/8” (1/4” would work too… but make sure it’s without fines and not “-1/4“ nor “minus 1/4” though… “minus” means fine rock/dust/sand-size is included in the gravel). For the ginshanada, choose something easy on the eyes, mild (creams or silvers), earthy, natural, speckled/mottled in appearance (to match the mottled shadows of foliage of surrounding plants). Pure “white/ice rock” gravel is much too bright and blinding - a common mistake when Westerners try to make a Japanese karesansui or zen garden.
