| Video Discription | Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom, is located 70 miles northeast of London and 25 miles northeast of Cambridge. The Liberty Wing consists of more than 4,500 active-duty military members, over 1,000 British and U.S. civilians and includes a geographically-separated unit at nearby RAF Feltwell. RAF Lakenheath is the largest U.S. Air Force-operated base in England and the only U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) F-15 fighter wing. Thanks to the RAF Coningsby and UK spotters FB group I was able to get onto a Lakenheath Tour on Friday 30th September with a number of other people. It was a really foggy day so things didn't go according to plan. Many shots were able to be taken due to the Security risks. However, here is a list of what we did on the day. Photos are all on my Facebook Page Jonny Gios Photography 8.30am Meet Group to get the coach into the Base 9.00am Wait 30 for security check at Gate 1 and 'Restroom' stop at the commissary 9.30am Tower Tour - unfortunately no aircraft were taking off due to the weather 10.15am - Tour of Tower Simulator 10.40am - Presentation from BASH ( Bird avoidance team ) Can't remember acronym 11.00am Hanger 7 - we got to touch a F15 and see F35 close up.
