12/29/2008 Nahari Smith Lil Harvey Lamron
An 18-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a gun accident in his South Side apartment, police said this morning.
Nahari Smith of the 6400 block of South Eggleston Avenue was fatally shot in the chest when a gun he and another person were handling discharged, Chicago Police Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
No charges were filed against Smith's companion. O'Brien said the two apparently were playing with the weapon when it went off. It was not clear who actually owned the gun.
Smith was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. in Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Just after midnight, officers responded to the scene of two people shot after an argument and gunfight in the 6400 block of South Eggleston Avenue.
According to police, Terrance Hollins, 17, of the 7300 block of South Dorchester Avenue was standing with another person when a four-door Grand Prix approached from the east on W 64th Street. Shots were fired from the passenger side door and Hollins died on the scene. The gunman fled.
Hollins was a student at the School of Entrepeneurship in South Shore High School, Monique Bond, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Public Schools, said in an e-mail.
Police are also investigating at least five other shootings from around the city.

A 21-year-old Englewood man was shot and killed while sitting inside his home on Monday afternoon, according to police.
Ronald Young, of the 500 block of West 62nd Street, was pronounced dead at 2:12 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
At about 1:30 p.m., Young was shot several times in his lower back at his residence, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.

Lil Ron & Lil Ricky both died 9 days apart. Lamron killed em both for Lil Moe. It's kinda crazy cause these niggas lived right in Lamron territory. Literally right between Taytown & Lamron (their main opps). They lived right on 62nd & Normal.
A man was killed at an Englewood gas station early this morning when a gunman walked up and shot him, police said.
A witness drove Ricky Coleman, 21, to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police said they had no motive in the shooting of Coleman, who lived in the 500 block of West 62nd Street. The shooting took place at a gas station at 810 W. 59th St.
An autopsy determined Coleman died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Wentworth Area police were investigating.
Freaky (Toryion Conner) NO LOVE CITY July 21, 2012
The death of a 15-year-old boy in early April—after he was shot nearly two years ago in West Englewood—has been ruled a homicide.
Toryion Conner died at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center at 7:37 p.m. on April 6, according to Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
An initial autopsy was inconclusive pending further studies, though the medical examiner’s office has since determined Toryion died of sepsis and paraplegia, with multiple gunshot wounds as the underlying cause. His death was ruled a homicide, according to a county spokesman.
Conner and two other boys were walking in the 7100 block of South Loomis Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. on July 21, 2012, when two males walked up and opened fire, authorities said at the time.
All three boys—13, 13, and 16—were hospitalized in “stable” condition after the shooting, police said at the time.
