The Perennial Rye Grass is very fast to germinate, very easy to grow and looks great. The Turf Type Tall Fescue germinates almost as fast as the PRG and has thinner blades of grass. And then there's Kentucky Blue Grass... Slow to germinate, tough to grow as a monocrop, but in my opinion the Alpha of cool season grasses. I already knew I was going to use KBG but I was unsure which one to go with. Having these window lawns was a great way to see exactly how long each one took to germinate, as well as color, blade difference and over all appearance. The seed that I will be using is the 365ss Kentucky Blue Grass from United Seed. I will be using that for my back yard and I know I didn't have it in the video but the Midnight KBG from Jacklin seed will be my entire front yard. I am so excited to see what my lawn will turn into when I seed this spring.
