| Video Discription | Have fun trying to classify Armando Leduc. He has the rock pipes, mixed with smooth latin soul, and his vocal styling is reminiscent of 60’s and 70’s greats. Armando Leduc was born on a cold day in January on a military base in Nuremberg, Germany. His father is Puerto Rican and his mother is Portuguese and he went to school overseas. Armando is trained as an opera singer, but has a hunger for Salsa, Funk, Hip Hop, and Soul. He's one of those fortunate souls with plenty to express and the range to deliver. Armando got his singing chops from a plethora of performing avenues. Musical theater, an award winning barbershop quartet called the Harmonics, and he played with indy rock bands throughout his 20’s. When Armando moved to New Orleans, his singing career really opened up. He began singing with a Salsa Band called Rumba Buena, and then spent 8 years singing on the world-famous Bourbon Street in a top 40’s band called B Street Benny. Armando sang everything from rock to hip hop, to pop and R & B. He then started his own band called DATBAND which has been recognized as one of New Orleans‘ top wedding and event bands. After the success of DatBand, Armando took his hunger for Salsa and created an offshoot Salsa band called Armando Leduc Y Salsa Royale. Today you can catch Armando playing at festivals throughout the southeast, including the world famous Jazzfest and French Quarter Fest.
