| Video Discription | My friend Vanna died recently. I organized a drum Ceremony for her in my backyard in Bristol. This was the last text message she sent me. She wrote me... Hey Tom! I’m writing a little book and I thought you might like this piece. Tragical & Magical Journeys This life is both tragical and magical in many ways. The moments of loss and gain sometimes colliding together in short spaces of time. We release what we once knew and how scary it is, shifting through life in its entirety. Explosions of bliss and the sporadic raindrops we feel and start to make a run for as the sour taste of soaked garments would suffocate us in minus-degree weather. Magical isn’t it, the way love makes its way into our lives through little things like sarcasm and shared interests. The way life seems to be a drive on a freshly paved road and not skipping to the next song. You suddenly know that every left turn you made and every forgotten where you put your keys crisis led you to this now. This is the magic. Tragical when the curtains drop and the sound of the crowd cheering you on starts to fade. You go home and wonder how can I do that again? Dreams become distant fantasies and your dust-covered passions watch you sip your morning coffee and leave for a unworthy experience. How tragic is it that we don’t view the time we have until a clipboard comes around to your death bed completely detached to your existence thinks knowing if your eyes are dark brown or hazel matters when you’re on a time limit? Don’t let your existence fade when it’s just you and your tears - don’t let life’s cosmic tricks fool you into believing that you’re not wonderfully made to flip perfectly round pancakes and wanting time with yourself. When it’s magic, make it count, remember the scent on your lover's neck and the joy of a couch filled with your Favorite people. the way yes sounds coming from her heart on her lips to kiss yours and you know no matter what happens love would always be your savior. When it’s tragic, watch it unfold, let the pain of stubbing your toe turn your anger into patience, turn your lateness into reason. When it’s tragic don’t cook and pour sadness into your noodles it’s hard digesting grief. When in a tragical state forgive, forgive the time you forgot to call mum, forgive the time you wanted to be alone when your friends needed you. Moments can break us but there is a pivotal moment in time where you have just a millisecond between giving yourself a chance and giving up. When in a magical state, take your time in the shower, let the see you later hug last a little longer, don’t leave the car till the song is done, create bonus time with the people you need more time with, know that nothing is as it seems on the surface.
