| Video Discription | Oasis Location: Gleneagles, Scotland, U.K Venue: Gleneagles Hotel Date: 6th February 1994 Source: Soundboard Recording The second show of the Definitely Maybe Tour, Oasis played as part of a Sony music conference held in the Gleneagles Hotel in Gleneagles, Scotland near the city of Perth. This video uses the soundboard source, as it sounds far more powerful to the audio feed from the pro-shot video. There seems to be some confusion over the date of this show, as i’ve seen on some sites the date listed as the 10th of March, however I feel the common date of 6th of February is correct and my reasonings why will be explained later. Though the lads only play six songs the performance otherwise is fantastic. Liam sounds fantastic throughout and this show is commonly seen as his best show with Oasis. He nails Digsy’s Dinner, Live Forever and Cigarettes & Alcohol with conviction and all three are possibly the best renditions of the songs live. The band too are very tight and very versatile on each song, the only slight hiccup being Noel flubbing a small part of his Digsy’s solo. This was originally going to be the first show I was going to upload on my channel, but it never happened due to Ignition blocking some of the officially released tracks on the video. Unfortunately this is still the case, so both Supersonic and the pre-show soundcheck of I Am The Walrus will not be featured in the video. Back to the date of the show however. The common date of the 6th of February as it makes sense as this show is the Sony music conference for English Sony executives, while the famous Amsterdam gig on the 18th of the same month that never came to be was a show for international executives. The long gap between that show and the beginning of the U.K Tour on the 23rd of March would also make sense as the gig in Amsterdam was also technically a support show for The Verve whom they supported in December the previous year. As such, if the Amsterdam show went ahead they may have stayed on supporting for the rest of that band’s early 1994 European tour. Lastly, the setlist is identical to what has been said was the setlist at the Water Rats Club in London, held on the 27th of January. I should mention that I do know this photo is from June 1994, but it’s too iconic not to use.
