The bright sound signature comes largely from the light all brass bell.It’s a very efficient amplifier, which means you’ll get more volume for the same amount of effort compared to the vast majority of trumpets out there. If you’re looking for a traditional all-round trumpet that will blend well with other trumpets in a section, the Classic is very likely the instrument for you.The Universal has the same geometry as the Classic, only the bell is slightly thicker and has a flare made of phosphor bronze. These factors contribute to making it a warmer sounding instrument with a more defined core.With a Universal, you can still access all the brightness you need, but the sound is surrounded by more warmth.If you’re playing in a trumpet section with Bachs and Yamahas, you’ll likely find that your sound is a bit warmer sounding compared to theirs. However, if you’re longing for a trumpet that is super easy to play, highly efficient and that helps you produce a warm and rich tone - the Universal is a truly excellent choice.
