In this year’s edition, 36 audio-visual works from around the world will be compiled into three feature-length shows, a kind of supercut of perspectives. They will be made available to stream from the 26th to the 28th of August each evening at 20.20. After their premiere, each individual contribution will also be available to watch in full-length in the media library at our website: https://www.pop-kultur.berlin In the online show for this year’s Pop-Kultur, the first part welcomes few old acquaintances who are bringing along some brand new material to share with you. Noga Erez, Hendrik Otremba, the RambaZamba Theater house band 21 Downbeat, Hamburg experimental musician Preach and Yeşim Duman have already participated in previous editions of the festival. In Wednesday’s show, they can be seen along with The Notwist, who will present a song from their upcoming album, as well as Wanlov the Kubolor of the Ghanaian duo FOKN Bois, who are in the spotlight of the documentary »Contradict. Ideas for a New World«, which can also be viewed in the Pop-Kultur programme. They will be joined by Yugen Blakrok, CATNAPP with her Commissioned Work, the duo MADANII & LLUCID and a talk about the crisis that art and music are facing in the age of Corona. All works for Pop-Kultur 2020 have English or German subtitles.
