MHL stands for Mobile High-Definition Link and allows manufacturers to mirror HDMI through other ports, typically the microUSB port (also used for data connectivity and charging). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_High-definition_Link MHL adapters are available online through MonoPrice, eBay and others for ~$10. Power MUST be provided for the MHL adapter to work: either through a wall charger or a USB port off another device such as a TV or cable box. MHL allows for MIRRORING of the screen, not an extension or 2nd display. As such, there is NO performance difference from the phone to the connected display. (Some people have asked if video playback is different on MHL than on the phone. It is IDENTICAL. The images are MIRRORED. If it plays smoothly on the phone, it will be smooth on the LCD/HDTV.) MHL outputs up to 1080p (through as of yet, no device have 1080p screens for mirroring) as well as full 7.1 channel surround sound.
