In July 1944 Germany introduced the first operational jet fighter-bomber in history, the Messerschmitt Me-262. At over 100 mph faster than the Mustang’s 440 mph and its four 30 mm cannon, it was a devastating weapon against American bombers. In one of these engagements a young American fighter pilot and a young German ace came together in an event that would start a long road ending in a great friendship. Hosted by Colin Heaton.
