| Video Discription | Come join us as we visit the quirky "Shangri La" stone village in Prospect Hill, NC. Shangri La was built in 1968 by a retired tobacco farmer, Henry Warren. He began this project at the young age of 75! It took him 9 years to complete, quarrying and blasting the stone from his own property, and hauling it to the site. The village consists of 27 buildings, including a theater, gym, bank, library, gas station, hotel and water tower. He was working on the hospital when he passed away. Even the stone walkway contains over 11,000 arrowheads that he had collected over his lifetime. [dkBSYWASYoY] |
