The moniker stands for 'Build Your Dreams', and this enormous Chinese corporation is probably the largest company you've never heard of. It's existed for around 27 years, making everything from batteries, buses, trains, forklift trucks, and now cars, and it employs around 300,000 people worldwide. See, we told you it was big... The BYD brand is launching in the UK over the coming weeks, and the Atto 3 is its first offering. This all-electric hatchback crossover sits midway between a Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 for size, so competes in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the motor industry, with more and more rivals entering the fray all the time. The Atto 3 is powered by a 201bhp electric motor fed by a 60.5kWh usable battery capacity, which gives in a WLTP combined range of 261 miles. The 0-62mph dash, meanwhile, takes a sprightly 7.3 seconds, and although prices for the car are we to be confirmed, they're expected too start at around £40,000.
