| Video Discription | A unique, classical escaping technique that appears as though one is jumping into the sword, but you are not. Ken Nagashi is quite the opposite as you'll see in the Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu Ukemi Gata lesson. Start notes ... As the opponent cuts, drop your hips and strike into sui-getsu, then strike your opponent’s feet and roll to a standing position. The important point here is to roll forward after attacking the feet. Tori will begin from ichi no kamae. Uke will attack daijodan karatakewari. Tori will begin in migi ichi no kamae. At the correct time, tori will leap in and down onto the right knee. What is important here is position of the body. Do not come down under the blade, rather to the side facing the uke. At the same moment as the tori drops, they will strike migi shikan ken to the suigetsu. Drive the strike forcefully into the suigetsu, sanshin tsuki. From this point they will drop their left hand to the migi toki attacking (slap) with shuko and then while leaning into sokuho-kaiten, attack migi-shuko to hidari toki. Migi sokuho kaiten behind and away from uke. While doing the roll, it is critical to maintain eye contact on the uke. Finish in kata hiza, ichi no kamae. ... ends notes.
